The next entry in Electronic Arts visually stunning Battlefield series is set to be released this fall for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. I applaud the creativity here and I hope I'm overthinking it, just wondering about the details. EA announces Battlefield 4 with a 17-minute gameplay trailer. Also this wont have persistent servers, that seems like it may be a big issue -I understand it, servers aren't free but then a paid option would make sense. There will be a lot of last second "Oh damm, I forgot I can't slide" or whatever on this game server. It also raises the concern if you play a variety of these different portal game modes remembering whats available and what's not, whats gameplay mechanics are enabled and whats not, it might turn out to be very annoying.

Next question could this potentially split up the player base to the point where waiting for a full lobby is a problem. But with millions or maybe more realistically thousands of people making game modes with all these different options I imagine there will need to be a tool to sort through servers for the better content? Otherwise it will definitely be overwhelming. So Im guessing after playing with it for a short time most wont bother, which is Ok, still lots will come to just play. It is obvious that the next Battlefield game needs a lot more attention. The story for the Battlefield 1 is the weakest part of the game in my opinion. Sound design is also very good, and the guns, explosions, and vehicles sound very powerful and realistic. EA took the wraps off Battlefield 4 this past week, offering players a chance to experience a taste of what. The graphics for this game are very good, and help create the atmosphere of WWI. Battlefield 4 Gameplay and Performance Preview. And one thing in fps games that for me personally makes it go from good to fucking so satisfying is the hit indicator. Battlefield 1 is one of the best FPS shooters of this Fall. and going back to a modern setting with Battlefield 6 could at least invest in series’ signature mayhem and gameplay freedom. Everything felt a lot more crisp, more responsive and fun - especially the shooting mechanics. On paper it sounds great, lots of player choice and gameplay custimzation but it also seems like its going to be a steep learning curve in practice for the average player to create meaningful unique content. With Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4 eventually.
Wow this looks very ambitious, but it also presents some big questions.
